I want to extend to all the families of Saint Andrew Avellino a happy and healthy new year! During the month of January the faculty and I are preparing for a week of excitement and fun to celebrate Catholc Schools Week. We are beginning the week on Sunday, January, 31st with an Open House from 11:45- 1:30 P.M. Please encourage your friends and relatives to come and explore what is going on in St.Andrew's. The rest of the week is filled with fun activities such as: Buddy Day, Mass, Math and Spelling Bees, Spirit Day, Picinic lunch, Bad hair and Pajama Day and my famous Pancake Breakfast. Check out Current News for all activities throughout Catholic Schools Week.

As we enter into the month of February we will be preparing for the season of Lent. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and continues for forty days until Holy Thursday when the Easter Triduum begins. During Lent, we look more intently at our lives. We should reflect on how we should live the gospel message each day through almsgiving, personal sacrifices, and prayer. Christ showed us how to be servants of God. He lived for others, not for himself. Jesus  gave an example of this at the Last Supper when he humbly washed his disciples' feet. In the season of Lent let us work together to show our children that God has called us to live good lives and follow the way of Jesus.
