Homework:
Every night please sign your child's homework.
Also please from now on tear out their math homework and put it in their folders.

Every Friday 1-1 students will have a Spelling test.
Every Friday 1-1 students will have a Reading/ Story test.
Please practice Spelling words all week with your child and Read the story every night .
*READ WITH YOUR CHILD EVERY NIGHT FOR AT LEAST 20 -30 MINUTES! *
You can read to them, or have them read to you ... switch it up, but get them use to reading!
Read.... Read.... Read!!!!!
Writing:
Get your child writing!!!!!!
Have them use "Ms. Patrissi's Sky writing paper"
(if you need extra copies, just write me a note)
Have your child draw a picture then explain what it is, who is in it, what it is about .... anything (just get them writing)
If your child does not know how to spell a word (it is okay) let them try to spell it.
Remember...Stretch it out and sound out each letter.... once you hear the sound that letter makes immediately write it down.
Use the rubber band as an idea of how to stretch it out!
Writing / Reading
As Always please make sure to be reading at least 20 -30 minutes with your child every night. Also, please have your children practice writing (maybe after a story is read) Ask... What the book was about? Who was their favorite character? What was their favorite part?
Math
Please review ALL math concepts with your child.
Tests
As you know tests are starting to come about more often. Please make sure your child is studying every night. You need to review ALL material with your child... REINFORCE all concepts learned in school!!!
Homework
Homework usually consists of Spelling, Math, Grammar and Phonics sheets.
Please make sure you go over and review what your child is learning. Please sign all homework and test papers.
NOTE FROM THE TEACHER
All 1-1 students are reading and I am so proud of them. Please make sure your child is reading books on their appropriate level. Children should NOT be reading chapter books unless it is on their level.
